You know, we know. On July 1, 2023, three of the Noontime Shows made a big change on Philippine TV, where aside from TAPE's Eat Bulaga on GMA made a big flop to their viewers (as based on their comments from our TV Ad listings post), there is an initial telecast of ABS-CBN-led It's Showtime that has been moved from TV5 to GTV (from GMA Network) then for the TV5 side, they premiered a TV Show led by Tito, Vic and Joey (TVJ), known as "E.A.T.".
How the TV Ads during these shows are measured by DRPS PHCA?
The DRPS PHCA measured these three show's number of commercial break gaps and the TV Ads on it as we used the following channels.
Once all of the shows are ended, we will begin the measurement, by viewing and listing up the adverts during the show, and count it up to publish our informational graphics on DRPS PHCA's Facebook Page, which you can see them here.
What are the TV Ads aired during these shows?
During the July 1, 2023 Live Broadcast of Eat Bulaga! on GMA, we have seen 42 TV Commercials across all of the four commercial gaps of the show.
The first gap had aired 13 TV Ads, the second gap aired 11 TV Ads, the third gap aired 11 Ads as well, and on the final gap, they aired 7 TV Ads. Most of the commercials are led by Unilever's Brands (i.e. Sunsilk, Rexona, Dove, Cream Silk, and etc.), while some of them are from an online gambling service, as well as the TV Ads that were brought by McDonald's, TGP and KFC.
Now on the TVJ's show on TV5, known as "E.A.T.", we have seen 112 TV Ads among all of the six commercial gaps of the premiere live broadcast. A Twitter user named "@sofiadeicm" said that there are 107 TV Ads (16 on Gap 1, 18 on Gap 2, 21 on Gap 3, 16 on Gap 4, 17 on Gap 5, and 19 on the final gap) during the premiere of TVJ on TV5.
However, after a further rechecking of the show's commercials using the recordings we made, it was found out that it actually aired 112 TV Ads, because of apart from the FIBA World Cup 2023 Tickets TV Ad (as it has an ASC Code at the end of it, which is why it was considered a TV Ad) which was aired at the end of the commercial break (just before the show returns or it aired TV5's promotional teasers), there are two specific versions of Flanax that has been aired in 15 seconds, which is what Taisho Pharmaceuticals is doing so on their other products.
As a result, based on our countings, we have determined that during the first gap of E.A.T. Premiere on TV5, it aired 19 TV Ads (three more than their claim), 19 TV Ads on the second gap (1 less than their claim), 21 TV Ads on the third gap, 17 TV Ads on the fourth gap (1 more than their claim), 17 TV Ads on the fifth gap, and 19 TV Ads on the final gap.
And finally, we will talk about the commercials during It's Showtime, from ABS-CBN. This was aired it's initial telecast on GMA's own sister channel, GTV, as a result of the move from TV5 due to the plan to move it's timeslot to 16h30, was rejected, including the network's premiere of TVJ's show a day after their final broadcast on June 30.
Upon our countings, it was found out that there are 122 TV Commercials among all of the five commercial gaps of the show (on GTV). The show became trending on Twitter during that time being. On the first gap, we have seen by 34 TV Ads. The second gap aired 18 TV Ads, the third one aired 32 TV Ads, the fourth one got 19 TV Ads, and on the final gap, it aired 19 TV Ads! The audience and viewership ratings? (Conclusion)
Well, based on a Nielsen's Report (NUTAM), TVJ's E.A.T. got an 8.4% on ratings, on TV5. Furthermore, It's Showtime, which this show actually aired its initial telecast on GTV, they got 3.94% in ratings (combined GTV, A2Z and Kapamilya Channel, which these got 2.39%, 1.28% and 0.27% respectively), while Eat Bulaga! on GMA scored 2.62%.
To end this article, we have based the advertisers of each show's commercial gaps we've based on what we've seen here. It is worth mentioning that their viewer's choice is their own choice and their advertisers' choice help people improve their products sales.
And we've counted them as the names of the TV Ads are based on our own TV Ad Archive YouTube Channel, DRPS One Channel.
